Welcome to the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center!

As a cornerstone of Missoula’s vibrant community, the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center stands for peace rooted in justice, equity, and connection. We believe that true peace cannot exist without listening to all voices and working together for systemic change.

At JRPC, we inspire and empower people through education, dialogue, and nonviolent action—fostering a world where compassion drives communication, where conflict leads to resolution, and where justice and sustainability go hand in hand.

We know that peace begins in our daily choices—in how we speak, act, and treat one another and our planet. That’s why we focus on conversations that matter, building relationships across differences, and cultivating a culture of learning and care.

Our Mission and Vision:

MISSION: To inspire and empower Western Montana communities in building a compassionate world through education, dialogue, and nonviolent action.

VISION: The Jeannette Rankin Peace Center envisions a Western Montana where compassionate communication and conflict resolution create the foundation for social justice and environmental sustainability. We serve as a vital resource center where diverse communities come together to learn, share, and work toward positive change.

Peace must include the way we each live our lives and the thoughts, actions and speech that supports peace (nonviolence), the way we treat others (compassion & social justice) and the way we treat the planet (environmental sustainability).

The Jeannette Rankin Peace Center is a resource to engage the community toward this goal. We focus our work on conversations that matter, connections with others and education. Together we are learning to BE the change!

“Wouldn’t it be a shame if you left this world without doing everything you can for peace?”

Jeannette Rankin
