We are getting so close to 1,000 Peace Cranes for the UN
Help Us Send 1,000 Peace Cranes to the United Nations for World Peace Day – read guidelines carefully to participate.
2025 Theme: Act Now for a Peaceful World
On September 21, 2025 the world will observe World Peace Day (International Day of Peace). This year’s UN theme — Act Now for a Peaceful World — calls on everyone to take concrete steps toward non-violence, respect, and understanding. As our contribution, we’re sending 1,000 folded paper cranes to the United Nations Headquarters in New York as a symbol of peace, unity, and hope for all 193 member states.

Guidelines for how you can help:
-Use paper 6 inches square or smaller — please, nothing larger.
-Fold neatly so cranes are uniform and well-formed.
-Bring cranes in counted, labeled bags — ideally in groups of 25.
-donate $ to JRPC to help cover the cost of packing and shipping to the UN at jrpc.org/donate.
Deadline / Drop-off: Bring counted, labeled bags to the Peace Center by September 15, 2025, anytime between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Whether you fold 5 cranes or 50, donate $5 or $50, your contribution is a concrete action for peace. Join us in sending a visible, heartfelt message to the world.
International Peace Day at JRPC: Act Now for a Peaceful World.

As a part of our observance, we’re hosting an event at JRPC where we will hang Peace Cranes on the trees in our patio, have light refreshments, and discuss what peace means to us. More details to come! Stay tuned by following us on Instagram & FaceBook @jeannetterankinpeacecentermt.
