Library Information
The Jeannette Rankin Peace Center's (JRPC) multi-media
library provides educational materials to the greater Missoula community.
It contains more than 2000 books, videos, audio tapes and periodicals
to help build and foster a community consensus for peace, justice
and protection of the environment.
The Library endeavors to provide a wide selection of resources for teaching: non-violent conflict resolution and the history of non-violence; awareness of global social justice issues and crises; environmental stewardship; sustainable lifestyle practices; media literacy; grassroots democracy;and much more.
The Resource Library focuses on the following 14 broad categories of holdings:

- American Diversity Issues: Afro-American, Asian-American, Lesbian & Gay, Native American.
- Animal Rights Issues
- Children's Peace and Conflict Resolution Literature & Teacher Resources
- Conflict Resolution
- Economics
- Environmental Issues - including Sustainable Lifestyles and Food Production

Resources may be checked out six days a week from 10am until 7pm during the summer, and 10am to 5pm during the winter. Books, videotapes, and audio items are loaned for a two week period. If you have books, magazines, videos, audio-tapes, audio-CDs, or periodicals on the above topics that you are interested in donating to the library, please contact us. Gifts are tax-deductible.
Notice For Teachers And Instructors
Enhance your students' educational experience
The library has curriculum materials for teaching about history, self-governance, cultural topics, the environment, and of course peacemaking. Material is available for elementary school through high school.
A variety of mailings, newsletters, newpaper articles and other resources are available in the library files. Magazine publications ranging from: E- Enviromental Magazine, to Yes!, to The Nation, and Harpers Monthly are accessible for in-library use six days a week from 10 am to 7 pm
